KanStrat represents Optimized Gas Treating, Inc. (OGT) for the ProTreat® and SulphurPro® software, the industry's most advanced simulation tools for gas treating and sulphur recovery, in Australasia.
ProTreat® was developed by Optimized Gas Treating Inc. established in 1992 by Ralph Weiland and Jack Dingman in the USA and integrates more than 30 years of research in gas treating, supported by government and industry in both academic and commercial environments.
Gas treating engineers can simulate the process of:
ProTreat® and SulphurPro® have a COM interface making them able to connect directly with Excel as well as being CAPE-OPEN compliant enabling the connection with other CAPE-OPEN capable software. The COM interface with Excel enables engineers to produce custom reports easily using Microsoft Office desktop applications.

Gas treating engineers can simulate the process of:
- Acid gas absorption with amine and physical solvents,
- Carbon capture,
- Glycol dehydration,
- Caustic treating,
- Sour water stripping,
- Claus sulphur recovery units.

ProTreat® uses a mass transfer rate-based model for the simulation of the absorption column, which includes chemical kinetics, transport properties for gas and liquid phases, effect of salts on solubility and real column hardware mass transfer characteristics. The mass transfer rate-based model makes the process simulation faithful to reality and fully predictive, and as a result, provides unrivaled certainty and reliability in unit design, research & scoping studies, plant optimization, and troubleshooting.

SulphurPro®, the latest addition to OGT's product line, is a full sulphur plant simulator. SulphurPro® and ProTreat® simulations can be seamlessly integrated to model the full sour gas clean up complex.
SulphurPro® uses a kinetic and heat transfer rate-based model for the simulation of Modified Claus sulphur recovery units. This includes reaction kinetics for the reaction furnace, waste heat boiler, and Claus converters as well as rate-based heat transfer with integrated sizing and rating for Claus condensers and the waste heat boiler. |
